The Story of HealingHOOK®
The first steps in the Healing Hook® story were taken at the turn of the millennium in a small rural village, Vilppula, where the hook’s inventor, Jukka Heininen, is from. The idea of an aid that extends behind the back was born at the beginning of the 2000s based on the wishes of customers attending Heininen’s massages; those living alone wanted a gadget that they could use to treat their conditions at home.
The History of Healing Hook®
Jukka Heininen picked up the first pieces of plywood from a nearby hardware store with an old rollator, and the development work that started from that led to Kipukoukku®’s current form. The idea matured, and the first Kipukoukku® were made in Heininen’s basement with an old band saw.
Heininen developed the shape of the hook and sometimes went to local stores to present the hook and get feedback. At first, the hook was more like a pickaxe or scythe. Heininen got the real insight from the father-in-law’s wall. Seeing the Sickle raised as a decoration, Heininen realized that the same shape could also be used in the Kipukoukku®. The curved arm allows the hook to be used on different sides of the back and transfers power from front to back.

The Model is Patented
Over the years, the benefits of Kipukoukku® have captivated the people of Finland, and the hook is already used by 200,000 families. Only good inventions are copied. In order to ensure the quality of the product the customer receives, Healing Hook® is protected both as a model and as a name. Only genuine, domestic Healing Hook® can be called by that name.
HealingHOOK® Today
After the original wooden Kipukoukku®, the product has been significantly developed and refined further. The second generation Healing Hook® is made of domestic, ecological natural fiber composite. The new bio-composite hooks contain several improvements compared to the original wooden hook. A new brand has been created to support the first steps of export, and at the same time a new international name, HealingHOOK. The Healing Hook® is now better than ever!
